A world heritage site located across the Vishnumati river Swayambhu Stupa is another holy places situated in Kathmandu. There is a wooden glittering hillock crown on the top of the Stupa which can be seen from miles away. Tourists enjoy the view of the whole Kathmandu from the top of the Stupa.
Narayanhity Durbar is the must visit place in Kathmandu. It is the royal palace of the king of Nepal. This beautiful palace is no mere a royal residence, now it is converted in to museum for tourists to see.
Located on the way to Swayambhunath hill, National museum houses beautiful paintings, murals, statues and ancient weapons and coins. It also a favourite spot in Kathmandu as it displays the weapons and art of bygone era.
Besides these, Kathmandu is a home of many temples like Bhadrakali temple, Kasthamandap, Temple of Kumari, Hanumandhoka or Durbar Square, Akash Bhairav temple and Machchhendranath temple and so many near by attractions.
